“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place” Revelation 1:1 What is the test that is coming upon the whole world? (You may have to read further down to understand the answer) “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelations 3:10 If one cannot buy or sell without the mandatory mark, will an individual be inclined to yield to the Anti-Christ as his pre-eminent dictator, king or master? “He [Anti-Christ] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelations 13:16-17 What is the end result of those who accept the mark of the beast? Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:9-12 Apparently, there are many who refuse to accept a mark. Would you agree? And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.” Revelation 15:2 Are the plagues poured out on those with the mark or those without the mark? Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them.” Revelation 9:3-6 “So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image.” Revelation 16:2 What does it mean to be deceived? “Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” Revelation 19:20 Deceive (Webster’s) 1. To mislead by falsehood 2. To practice deceit (a lie or other dishonest action) Read Revelation 14:9-12 above. How do merchants buy the souls of men? “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: "merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet … and bodies and souls of men.” Revelation 18:11-13 What is the reward for those who refuse to accept the mark of the beast? “Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:4 What do you suppose is the blessing that comes to those who read and obey Revelations? “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” Revelation 1:3 What or who is the true temple of God? “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 Read this scripture passage and consider the following questions: “Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 - When a person receives the mandatory mark of the beast, isn’t he allowing the Anti-Christ to sit in the true temple (“you are the temple of God”) and basically claim that he is God?
- In the eyes of God, do those who accept the mark of the beast inadvertently acknowledge the Anti-Christ to be their only source of sustenance, their Jehovah-Jireh (this Hebrew name for
God, means provider) and thereby declare their allegiance to the Anti-Christ as God? (Remember only those with the mark can buy or sell). - When the mark becomes mandatory, will Christians who were counting on the rapture to happen prior to the Anti-Christ, be shaken, troubled, or perhaps become part of the “great falling away” as a result of their disillusionment?
- What is the main reason why people will be willing to accept the mark of the beast?
“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
